I have combination to oily skin. I have slight acne scarring on my cheeks as well as redness. The pores on my nose are rather large and makeup always slides off of that area of my face. I have been looking for a way to touch up during the day and have found that powders tend to cake up around my nose and chin and leave a less than desirable affect. I have drooled over the Mally Beauty Poreless Face Defender for quite awhile but could never justify the $40 price tag.
I was watching my favorite Youtube beauty guru, Emily Noel one day when she was talking about the new CoverGirl Trumagic Skin Perfector. I get so excited when the drugstore comes out with high end dupes!! I finally found it at my Ulta, it was hidden on the bottom shelf of an end cap, but I sniffed it out!
I opened it immediately after I got home and used it over my makeup and I loved the effect. As Ulta's website says, Cover Girl's innovative clear formula gives your skin instant matte perfection. Use under, over, or instead of makeup. Oil free, non-greasy, works with all skin types. Blendable, lightweight.
I will say that all of those claims are true. I have only had the little gem for two days but so far so good. It feels like a wax in the pan but when you put it on your skin it feels like a silicone but then dries to a smooth finish. I primarily bought this product to replace my translucent and foundation powders for touch ups and I am so glad I did. It doesn't add any color or cake up on my face but it does reduce the shininess on my T-zone significantly.
FYI the product is quite soft and you need to use a light hand with the sponge. A little goes a long way. I gently swipe the sponge across the product and then tap gently over my shiny areas. I will take photos to show you of before with shiny face and after with beautiful fresh matte face. Stay tuned!
